Hello and welcome to the first episode of my brand new show, English-Farsi-Talk, or EnFaTalk FOR SHORT.
Now since this program is reaching you on the internet, I thought it would be nice to kick things off with a few words about getting angry online.
I’m sure many of you HAVE HAD THIS EXPERIENCE where you’re just browsing some news websites or casually exploring on Instagram and you COME ACROSS a post or a comment that really GETS YOU WORKED UP.
Why does this happen?
Well, in my experience, it’s mainly because the content (that) you see CONTRADICTS one or more of YOUR BELIEFS in some way.
In this situation, you and I REGARD what the other person is saying AS either FALSE, or MANIPULATIVE, or simply STUPID and (so) we take it upon ourselves to reply and set them straight; to stop their harmful influence.
This, of course, can be about any topic; from politics, to religion; from raising children, all the way to football. But tell me, have YOU ever got angry on the internet? And, if your answer is yes, which I think it is, how do you DEAL WITH IT?
Leave me a comment here. And maybe we can have a talk about it.
